FIRST EVALUATION

December 2015

We used live online comunication for the initial evaluation.  It was a short discusion about maths and the students' fellings about math. The majority of the students were not very fond on Math. The majority took part in the project because they liked the idea of comunicate with another european school, learn about italian educational system and collaborate in english (this was a big chanlenge for many of them. It was their first time!). During the online meeting a student  had notes and we tried to record the meeting but finally we had serious problems with the sound. Anyway it was the beggining ! The project was scheduled by our math teacher here in Greece, Ms Atmatzidou Katerina nad the math teacher in Italy, Ms Matilde Aimeta. They concider about our thoughts and our special needs and they made clear  to us that we will be a team which will dare to dream big and will act possitively during the difficulties we will face during this  project.

SECOND  EVALUATION

FEBRUARY 2016

The second evaluation was taken place on February. Students answered question on a paper we gave them and also answer in a google form. They wrote their suggestion about stopping some activities (they worked hard and methodicaly in mixed groups.  So they did a lot of work in a short time. That is why they had the feeling that they should have been given  new activities to start working  on them).

They expressed their thoughts in words on a paper   about the way we collaborate. We find out that the twinspace was not their favorite way to talk each other. Actually we did not spend enough time to "introduce" them  the new tools of twinspace as forum and chat. We had to convience some of the directors about the safty of the twinspace, too take the permission of the parents and so on. That is why it took us so long to work in the twinspace. But that was not a negative point to the collaboration between the teams!  They used the email of the project which we had created from the beggining  and they loved to post their work and talk each other  there sending messages. They found it more familliar (they are all 18-19 years old and even thought they loved working in mixed groups, they had always problems with time. They  were recomended not to spare too much time in extra activities as they are all at the last year of their great effort to acheive their entrance to the Universities . So the students find it easier to use the gmail of the project to post and communicate. They sugested to the teachers  to create a facebook team but the directors did not gave them permission..

So after the middle evaluation we persuate our teachers to do some extra activities, more activities than the scheduled ones. They were very happy about the project. It was not "their" project any more! It became "students" project " our " project! We were all different students, with different intrests and different needs. The most students in italian  team were boys and the majority of students in greek team were girls! Math is a school subject... but for us was also the bridge to communicate, to discover, to dream, to deal with our fear about a difficult school subject... Math Investigation start as an eTwinning project but finaly we transformed it day by day, activity by activity, to our favourite school activity.

How did we collaborate and communicate? We formed  a mix team about the mail.  They were  in charge about the input of the mail. After reading themand discusting about with the teachers, they upload  the work on the site we created about the project. Everybody was content  and the middle evaluation gave us new goals to work to acheive.
