“My Beloved
Know that my beloved in hidden from everyone
Know that she is beyond the belief of all beliefs
Know that in my heart she is as clear as the moon
Know that she is the life in my body and in my soul”

We can  construct a GeoGebra heart graph. In this post, we learn how to create a heart graph using GeoGebra. The equation of this graph is a lot simpler compared to the first two (well, because it is in factored form).

How to Construct a GeoGebra Heart Graph

Open GeoGebra. You might want to display the Axes by pressing Graphics at the upper right of the Graphics view and then choosing the Axes icon.

In the Input Bar, type

(x^2 + y^2 – 1)^3 – x^2y^3 = 0

and the press the Enter key on your keyboard. The equation you typed is equivalent to

The ^ stands for exponentiation in GeoGebra.

Change the color of the graph by clicking the graph and choosing the right color from the Styling bar at the upper left part of the Graphics view Open Geogebra app and follow the instructions.

It would be fun as

"The only way to learn Mathematics

is to do Mathematics"!

To those who are new to GeoGebra, it is a free dynamic mathematics software that can be used for teaching and learning mathematics.

Love takes care of your heart

Studies show that expressions of love lower your heart rate into half. This is even more effective in stressful situations and reduces the risk of heart conditions in the long run.

Besides, oxytocin — known as the love hormone and believed to be one of the most amazing molecules in the world — diminishes stress, lowers the blood pressure, reduces regular and social anxiety, boosts self-esteem, and helps us avoid and fight depression.

Love promotes longevity

Surveys show that people in meaningful relationships, especially in marriage, feel healthier and benefit from a sound lifestyle (including food choices, regular meals, better rest, less stress etc.).

Being in a couple also helps people prevent and makes them prone to address physical conditions faster. This has basically proven that people that are in love and in a committed relationship tend to live longer.

Love treats insomnia

Love hormones (oxytocin and endorphins) inhibit the release of cortisol, which is the hormone responsible for stress and it turn, they naturally promote better rest. Also, the «hormonal reconfiguration» of love making is scientifically proven to be one of the most efficient treatments for a good night’s sleep.

Love is a natural pain relief

We all know that embraces feel good and comforting. Yet, recent studies have shown that the oxytocin (chemical in brain which creates feeling of calm and closeness) released during a 10-20 seconds hug can effectively fight pain, specifically headaches.

What’s more, just looking at a photograph of your loved one increases your endurance threshold and reduces pain (to 40% in moderate cases, and 15% in severe). Our brain associates the image of our partner to a pleasant distraction which makes any kind of pain more bearable, thus acting as an analgesic.

"In Math Investigation project we felt  that Math can be everywhere,. It is a matter of time and mood  to find the right way to let your mathematician introduce you to the magical world of MATH and let yourself discover it!"

"Finally we finished this mission. The idea to mix a religious approach  with a math activity as the EQUATION OF LOVE was brilliant!

Because "ALL WE NEED IS  LOVE" as it is written on  the poster of this activity! Here is the ebook about  the Hymn of Love which we created in order to present the 1Corinthians  about the Hymn of Love

We used  :

Modern Greek,

Ancient Greek,

Italian and

English.

We loved the mission... But most of all we felt so close to our partners. Teenagesrs from two european countries  collaborated in an activity that they are never forget it.    The results are ...on your screen!"

Watch the second version  of the video we created about the Hymn of Love. In this version two students, one from Lykeio Schimatariou and another one from Vallauri Fossano read the text of the Hymn of Love using their native language, then eTeam Schimatariou mixed them  and we added the subtitles in english. An  absolutely "collaborative " version which you will ...love it!

"Superman, Clark and Lois, Heart equation,  geogebra, functions

and  graphs for ...LOVE in a video.

We really... loved this activity.

Watch how we mixed all these with our love for... a school subject: Math!"

The video-creators

"We were asked about our choice. Why did we used Superman for the activity about Equation of Love- Math Investigation eTwinning mission.

Well the answer is easier thwn you could  think.

This mission is the next step of the Mission about Batman's Logo. We were looking for a super hero to get some scenes for the video we were creating about equation of Love. The choice was one way! Superman was the hero. Even though he's bulletproof and can turn back time by revolving the Earth, he's still susceptible to the charms of a woman, just like anybody.

We had a quick look at all Superman's films. We loved Christopher Reeve's Superman as he  had less angst, which  was a reflection of the optimism of the late '70s and '80s.

All Supermen are about  someone who was amused by his own ability. It was OK to be powerful and get joy out of how fast you could run or how smart you could be. Superman's altruism also shifted.

So we really ...loved this activity! and it was the funniest part of it when we worked on the video. We had to mix Lois and Clark with graphs, equation of heart, functions and Love equation. So find the hidden Maths in this activity. Maths can be everywhere!"

"Just as the Greek gods represented their society, Superman is like the avatar of the United States. It's how we want to see ourselves. That's why he gets more powerful and that's why he gets more handsome. It becomes our own wish fulfillment," says Brad Meltzer, who has written for Superman in the DC Comics series Identity Crisis and the latest installment of Justice League of America.

Activity: Praise of Socrates for Love

Εγκώμιο του Σωκράτη για τον Έρωτα. ( από το Συμπόσιο του Πλάτωνα)

The text was taken care of greek tem and the pictures were posted from italian team.

A proof that π equals love!

Yes We did it!!! It needs imagination to prove it. But we definetly manage to come in a conclution! Another activity in this mission  came to an end. We mailed each other. We had some ideas and Here  we are. Italian and Greek teamNo 3  designed it. Press to read the flipping book!

This is the end of our activity. Mission: Equation of Love comes to an end. We all LOOOOED it. And we decided to use it to  present eTwinning project to locals , parents and friends at the end of the school year.  Why? Because finally all of us LOOOOVED math....on their way!

We found a video in youutube . Someone posted it in our blog. With humor and charm, mathematician Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón answers a question that’s wracked the brains of bored students the world over:

What is math for?

He shows the beauty of math as the backbone of science — and shows that theorems, not diamonds, are forever. In Spanish, with English subtitles. LOVE MATH!!!

Thank you eTwinning for the amazing collaboration!
